4 Sri Lankans die in London hearth


4 members of the identical household of Sri Lankan origin, together with a boy and woman, died in a home hearth in South-East London.

Two girls and two infants have been rescued from the primary flooring of the property on Hamilton Highway, Bexleyheath, at about 20:30 GMT, 8.30 pm Sri Lanka time on Thursday, however all 4 died on the scene.

Neighbours described listening to kids screaming and a “distraught” man exterior the semi-detached terraced home that was “engulfed in flames”.

Builder Scott James, who lives close by, stated the household had solely been of their just lately renovated house for about 5 months.

He stated, “I bought overwhelmed by smoke after which the entire home was engulfed. The downstairs was on hearth after which the entire home went up.”
