President Gotabaya Rajapaksa inspected the Natural Fertilizer Packaging Centres at Oyamaduwa and Senanayake Mawatha in Anuradhapura managed by the Land Reform Fee, yesterday (17).
The Land Reform Fee produces natural fertilizer at 35 centres within the North Central Province utilizing Water hyacinth, Ginisiriya, poultry wastes, dried dung and Eppawala Rock Phosphate as uncooked supplies. The Land Reform Fee expects to supply 50,000 metric tons of natural fertilizer for the Maha Season, the PMD stated.
Fertilizer is packaged at six centres at Anuradhapura Oyamaduwa, Senanayake Mawatha, Padaviya, Mahailluppallama, Eppawala and Thalawa and handed over to the Business Fertilizers Ltd. The Business Fertilizers Ltd then distributes natural fertilizer to the farming group by the Division of Agrarian Growth.
One metric ton of this natural manure could be utilized per hectare of paddy subject. Farmers may even have the chance to witness the manufacturing and high quality of fertilizers on the packaging centres or manufacturing centres.
The President inspected the natural fertilizer packaging centres at Oyamaduwa and Senanayake Mawatha and examined the standard of the manufactured fertilizers, it stated.
