50 Mn price gem provided to Kataragama Devalaya lacking!

A gem price over Rs. 50 million given to the Kataragama Devalaya as an providing by a gem service provider within the Ratnapura space, has reportedly gone lacking.

An investigation has commenced relating to the disappearance of the gem.

In the meantime, the Colombo Crimes Division yesterday (09) obtained an announcement from the spouse of underworld chief Angoda Lokka, Agampodige Nisasanla, relating to the disappearance of a 38-pound gold plate that had been donated to the Kataragama Devalaya.

It’s stated that the gold salver was provided to the Kataragama Devalaya on July 03, 2019 to keep at bay dangerous karma of their son.

The disappearance of the golden salver was notified to the Basnayake Nilame of the Kataragama Devalaya by means of a WhatsApp message on October seventeenth and the Basnayake Nilame had lodged a grievance with IGP C.D. Wickramaratne on October 18.

Accordingly, the IGP had instructed the CCD to conduct an investigation into the disappearance of the golden salver.

With the graduation of these investigations, on the twenty sixth of final month, an individual named N. M. Ajith Pushpakumara had introduced a gold salver just like the lacking one and handed it over to the Administrative Secretary of the Kataragama Devalaya.

He had stated that when he visited the home of the Chief Kapuwa of the Devalaya, Somapala Ratnayake,  he had given the salver to him and requested him at hand it over to the Devalaya. 

It’s reported that Pushpakumara had notified the Administrative Secretary by means of a letter given on the time of handing over the salver that the Chief Kapuwa had advised him that it belonged to the Devalaya.
