Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini will not be arrested

Final Tuesday (02), Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini Fernando filed a Basic Rights utility with the Supreme Courtroom searching for an order to stop any try being made by the CID to arrest him, after summoning him to the CID to file an announcement.

The Director of the CID, Director of State Intelligence Service (SIS) Main Basic Suresh Salley, and the Lawyer Basic have been named as respondents amongst others. 

In the meantime, clergymen staged a protest reverse the Colombo Excessive Courtroom immediately, in assist of the FR utility filed by Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini Fernando.

The Maha Sangha additionally supported the protest.

Chatting with media, Rev. Fr. Jude Krishantha, – Media Director of the Archdiocese of Colombo stated that it’s embarrassing that the Head of State Intelligence was threatened by an announcement made by Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini Fernando.

“SIS Chief (Main Basic) Suresh Salley has stated that Rev. Fr. Gamini’s assertion had put his and his household’s lives in danger, and that’s the reason Rev. Fr. Gamini is being summoned to the CID,” stated Rev. Fr. Jude Krishantha.

Ven. Pahiyangala Ananda Sagara Thero who supported the protest stated the federal government had fallen to a low degree that they attempt to imprison those that search justice.

“As spiritual leaders, we have now a proper to oppose such strikes and demand justice for the victims,” the Thero stated.
